In an emergency
Call 999 right now if your child:
- • is having trouble breathing, turning blue, or unresponsive
- • has a swollen face, lips or tongue (suspected anaphylaxis)
- • has a seizure, severe head injury, or won't wake up
- • has uncontrollable bleeding or is severely hurt
Call 111 if you need urgent advice but it isn't life-threatening — fever in a baby under 3 months, persistent vomiting, signs of dehydration, or you just don't know what to do next.
Outside the UK, dial your local emergency number. Trust your instincts — if something feels wrong, get help.
